The decision to purchase a male or female Doberman should depend on your personal preferences and needs. Both males and females can make excellent pets, and each gender has its own unique characteristics.
Male Dobermans are generally larger in size and more muscular than females, and they tend to be more protective of their territory and family. They can also be more dominant and territorial with other dogs. However, with proper training and socialization, male Dobermans can be loyal and obedient companions.
Female Dobermans, on the other hand, are usually smaller in size and more agile than males. They tend to be more affectionate and playful with their family members, and they may be less territorial than males.
Ultimately, the decision to purchase a male or female Doberman should depend on your lifestyle, living situation, and personal preferences.
If youโre interested in purchasing a puppy from Lakewood European Dobermann Kennel, the first step is to please fill out the buyer questionnaire that will help us select a puppy that can best meet your needs and living situation and ensure success for the dog and the new owner. This questionnaire is not a binding contract, nor guarantees we have the perfect puppy for you; we will review your application and will be in touch with you via email or phone.
All of our dogs carry the gene to have both red/rust & black/rush offspring. We are protectors of the traditional Doberman and we do not breed to produce blue, fawn, albino, warlock or any color that is not recognized by the AKC and FCI.
We require a $1,000 deposit to be placed on the puppy waiting list. Prior to paying the deposit, we will request your sex & color preference of your puppy. After the deposit is made you are placed next in line for the litter(s). Order is defined by the order that the deposit has been received.
This is a common question. For EVERYONES safety (our family, our dogs and our puppies) we DO NOT allow site visits. I am happy to have a video call or meet in a public place but we do not invite strangers into our home to visit puppies. We are VERY active on social media and use those channels to communicate daily to our audience. I do not allow site visits until we make arrangements for you to pick up your puppy, when the time arrives.
Our breeding program focuses first on our dogโs health. All of our dogs (and the dogs we choose to mate with) are DNA tested and clear of any major genetic diseases. Our dogs are certified by the OFA and are in Clear/Normal standings for all major non-DNA health exams including but not limited to eye, hip, elbow and thyroid evaluations. All of our dogs health testing information is available on our website and also in the OFA public database. We own our own holter machines, although all of our dogs are genetically clear of DCM, we test all of our dogs 2x annually. We offer easily accessible testing that is affordable to the community. Please contact us for see more info about our holter rental program.
The only buyers who can pick out their puppies are 1st pick male and 1st pick female from each litter. Prior to paying the deposit to reserve your puppy, we will request your sex & color preference of your puppy. We will use the buyer questionnaire to place the best puppy with you, according to your lifestyle, living situation, and personal preferences. After the deposit is made you are placed next in line for the litter(s). Order is defined by the order that the deposit has been received.
We require a $1,000 deposit to be placed on the puppy waiting list. In the event that the litter is not produced you will be placed in line for the next litter.
To protect the breed, our companion puppies are adopted with a limited registration from the American Kennel Club (AKC). Under special circumstances we will sell dogs with full breeding rights, please note that an additional screening will be required for buyers who want breeding rights.
The price of our puppies includes local pickup. We can help you make arrangements for delivery or shipping (domestic & international).
