Our dogs come from 100% full European Doberman bloodlines, registered with the AKC and/or FCI. They undergo extensive health testing and are fully certified. We do not work with American bloodlines to ensure the highest standards of temperament, health, and conformation.
We produce ONLY superior working and show quality European Dobermanns from multi-national champion working bloodlines.
The decision to purchase a male or female Doberman should depend on your personal preferences and needs. Both males and females can make excellent pets, and each gender has its own unique characteristics.
Male Dobermans are generally larger in size and more muscular than females, and they tend to be more protective of their territory and family. They can also be more dominant and territorial with other dogs. However, with proper training and socialization, male Dobermans can be loyal and obedient companions.
Female Dobermans, on the other hand, are usually smaller in size and more agile than males. They tend to be more affectionate and playful with their family members, and they may be less territorial than males.
Ultimately, the decision to purchase a male or female Doberman should depend on your lifestyle, living situation, and personal preferences.
If you’re interested in purchasing a puppy from Lakewood European Dobermann Kennel, the first step is to fill out our buyer questionnaire. This helps us learn about your lifestyle, experience, and what you’re seeking in a dog, allowing us to match you with the right puppy. After reviewing your application, if we believe we can meet your expectations, we will immediately schedule a time to discuss the details further. Please note, the questionnaire is not a binding contract and does not guarantee availability, but we will contact you immediately via email after review.
All of our dogs carry the gene to have both red/rust & black/rush offspring. We are protectors of the traditional Doberman and we do not breed to produce blue, fawn, albino, warlock or any color that is not recognized by the AKC and FCI.
To secure your place on our waitlist, we require a $1,000 deposit along with an e-signed agreement, with the balance due at pickup or delivery. This deposit reserves your spot in line, based on the order received, and allows deferral to a later litter if needed. Waitlist members receive exclusive priority updates about our dogs and litters before they are shared with the general public. Prior to placing your deposit, we will confirm your preferred sex and color of the puppy.
We carefully select homes for our dogs to ensure the success of the dog, buyer, and breeder. The buyer questionnaire helps us understand your lifestyle, needs, and preferences, while our temperament tests assist in matching you with the perfect puppy.
For the safety and well-being of everyone, we do not host on-site visits. We’re happy to share pictures and videos, conduct video calls, or meet in public places, but we do not allow visits to our home to see the puppies. We are very active on social media and use those platforms to communicate with the public daily.
Our breeding program focuses first on our dog’s health. All of our dogs (and the dogs we choose to mate with) are DNA tested and clear of any major genetic diseases. Our dogs are certified by the OFA and are in Clear/Normal standings for all major non-DNA health exams including but not limited to eye, hip, elbow and thyroid evaluations. All of our dogs health testing information is available on our website and also in the OFA public database. We own our own holter machines, although all of our dogs are genetically clear of DCM, we test all of our dogs 2x annually. We offer easily accessible testing that is affordable to the community. We carefully select homes for our dogs to ensure the success of the dog, buyer, and breeder. Proud of each dog we sell, we use the buyer questionnaire to understand your lifestyle, needs, and preferences. You also have the option to choose the sex and color of your puppy. Additionally, each puppy undergoes a series of temperament tests and sensitization exercises, exposing them to various environments, sounds, and stimuli. This process allows us to assess their personalities, resilience, and adaptability, ensuring we can match you with the perfect puppy that aligns with your specific expectations and living situation.
